The 1st GETPPP-Green School Energy and Environment Policies Joint Workshop was held in Buan, Korea from April 21-22, 2016. Green School students from both GETPPP and the Energy and Environment Policies Program were able to exchange ideas and enhance their understanding around renewable energy by visiting and attending lectures at the New & Renewable Energy Village and Theme Park. Field visits included a facility tour of NewREC (New & Renewable Energy Material Development Center). NewRec in collaboration with Chonbuk National University provides technical and educational support for the commercialization of solar technologies. Students got the opportunity to see the full production process in manufacturing of solar panels.

In addition, students participated in cultural activities such as experiencing a traditional Korean village and architecture. Students also had the opportunity to wear traditional Korean clothes (Hanboks).
