![]() On August 20, 2025, <i>the 4th Korea–Mongolia Future Strategy Forum</i> was held at the State Palace, Chinggis Hall, in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia. Unusually for a private forum, the event was hosted inside the Mongolian State Palace, with opening remarks delivered by Deputy Prime Minister Nyam-Osor Uchral. ![]() On the Korean side, the forum was attended by Professor Kang and Professor Ha, former UN Ambassador Kim Sook, National Assembly member Cho Eun-hee, and Ambassador to Mongolia Choi Jin-won, along with leaders from various business sectors. In total, around 200 participants from politics, business, and academia of both countries joined, with 14 speakers taking the podium. ![]() <i>The Korea–Mongolia Future Strategy Forum</i> has thus firmly established itself as a key platform for academic and practical exchange between the two nations. This year’s forum was held under the theme <em data-start="985" data-end="1023">“Energy and Ecology for the Future,”</em> aiming to explore pathways for Mongolia’s transition to renewable energy. ![]() Professor Kang chaired the first of two sessions, titled <em data-start="1439" data-end="1481">“Renewable Energy and District Heating.”</em> Listening to presentations from Mongolia’s Ministry of Energy and Ministry of Economic Development, he provided detailed comments highlighting the significant role Korea can play in supporting Mongolia’s renewable energy transition. Professor Ha, who participated as a discussant, also emphasized the importance of this forum in reinforcing Korea–Mongolia cooperation for the future. ![]() The forum also featured KU-GETPPP alumni Baldorj Myagmarsuren and Battumur Baigalimaa, underscoring the contributions of GETPPP graduates to sustainable development and to strengthening Korea–Mongolia cooperation. On the eve of the forum, Professor Kang held a networking meeting with five KU-GETPPP alumni — Enkhtuvshin Ganbaatar, Battumur Baigalmaa, Baldorj Myagmarsuren, Tumenjargal B., and Lkhagvademberel Battsengel — who are currently working at Mongolia’s Ministry of Energy and the state-owned Power Transmission Grid Company, further strengthening professional ties. ![]()
In this way, <i>the 4th Korea–Mongolia Future Strategy Forum</i> came to a successful close, reaffirming both Korea’s direction in the era of global cooperation and KU-GETPPP’s role in that journey.
